Jasper County was founded in 1841 and was created by taking area from Barry County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Jasper had a population of 121,228 people. This is an increase of 3.26% since the last Census (which gave a population of 117,404 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Jasper represented 1.96% of the total population of Missouri.
