Cass County was founded in 1833 and was created by taking area from Jackson County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Cass had a population of 105,731 people. This is an increase of 6.29% since the last Census (which gave a population of 99,478 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Cass represented 1.66% of the total population of Missouri.
