At the time of the 2010 Census, Zumbrota had a population of 3,252 people (which is 7.04% of the total population of Goodhue County). This makes Zumbrota the county's 4th most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Zumbrota was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Zumbrota post office opened in 1857.
