Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Elba had an population of 157 people. This is an increase of 3.29% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 26.64% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Elba had a population of 152 people. This makes Elba the county's 11th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 152 people, the population of Elba decreased 28.97% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 214 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Elba was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Elba post office opened in 1858.

We also found Elba in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
