The community of Buffalo is the Seat for Wright County.

Wright County was founded in 1855. Wright was created by taking area from Cass and Sibley Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Wright had a population of 138,542 people. This is an increase of 11.1% since the last Census (which gave a population of 124,700 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Wright represented 2.35% of the total population of Minnesota.
