The community of Redwood Falls is the Seat for Redwood County.

Redwood County was founded in 1862 and was created by taking area from Brown County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Redwood had a population of 15,158 people. This is a decrease of 5.61% since the last Census (which gave a population of 16,059 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Redwood represented 0.3% of the total population of Minnesota.
