From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Baraga had a population of 8,245 people. This is a decrease of 6.94% since the last Census (which gave a population of 8,860 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Baraga represented 0.09% of the total population of Michigan.
