Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Cambridge had an population of 118,988 people. This is an increase of 13.15% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 17.4% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Cambridge had a population of 105,162 people (or 7% of the total population of Middlesex County). This makes Cambridge the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Cambridge represents 1.61% of the total population of Massachusetts (which has 6,547,629 people), making it the state's 5th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 105,162 people, the population of Cambridge increased 3.76% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 101,355 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Cambridge was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Cambridge post office opened in 1802.

We also found Cambridge in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (1803).
