At the time of the 2010 Census, Stonewall had a population of 1,814 people (or 6.81% of the total population of De Soto Parish). This makes Stonewall the parish's 2nd most populous community.

We originally found mention of Stonewall in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Stonewall was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Stonewall post office opened in 1878.

We also found Stonewall in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
