Sabine Parish was founded in 1843. Sabine was created by taking area from Caddo and Natchitoches Parishes.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Sabine had a population of 23,895 people. This is a decrease of 1.39% since the last Census (which gave a population of 24,233 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Sabine represented 0.53% of the total population of Louisiana.
