Livingston Parish was founded in 1832 and was created by taking area from Saint Helena Parish.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Livingston had a population of 141,561 people. This is an increase of 10.57% since the last Census (which gave a population of 128,026 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Livingston represented 2.82% of the total population of Louisiana.
