At the time of the 2010 Census, Bossier City had a population of 61,315 people (or 52.42% of the total population of Bossier Parish). This makes Bossier City the parish's most populous community.

The population of Bossier City represents 1.35% of the population of Louisiana (which has 4,533,372 people), making it the state's 7th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 61,315 people, the population of Bossier City increased 8.6% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 56,461 people).
