Webster County was founded in 1860. Webster was created by taking area from Henderson, Hopkins and Union Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Webster had a population of 12,945 people. This is a decrease of 4.96% since the last Census (which gave a population of 13,621 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Webster represented 0.31% of the total population of Kentucky.
