The community of Elkton is the Seat for Todd County.

Todd County was founded in 1819. Todd was created by taking area from Logan and Christian Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Todd had a population of 12,318 people. This is a decrease of 1.14% since the last Census (which gave a population of 12,460 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Todd represented 0.29% of the total population of Kentucky.
