The community of Georgetown is the Seat for Scott County.

Scott County was founded in 1792 and was created by taking area from Woodford County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Scott had a population of 57,079 people. This is an increase of 21% since the last Census (which gave a population of 47,173 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Scott represented 1.09% of the total population of Kentucky.
