Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Rantoul had an population of 187 people. This is an increase of 1.63% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 22.41% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Rantoul had a population of 184 people. This makes Rantoul the county's 8th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 184 people, the population of Rantoul decreased 23.65% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 241 people).

We originally found mention of Rantoul in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Rantoul was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Rantoul post office opened in 1862.

We also found Rantoul in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
