Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Olathe had an population of 140,648 people. This is an increase of 11.74% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 51.3% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Olathe had a population of 125,872 people (which is 23.13% of the total population of Johnson County). This makes Olathe the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Olathe represents 4.41% of the total population of Kansas (which has 2,853,118 people), making it the state's 5th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 125,872 people, the population of Olathe increased 35.4% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 92,962 people).
