Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Norcatur had an population of 144 people. This is a decrease of 4.64% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 14.79% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Norcatur had a population of 151 people (or 5.1% of the total population of Decatur County). This makes Norcatur the county's 2nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 151 people, the population of Norcatur decreased 10.65% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 169 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Norcatur was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Norcatur post office opened in 1885.

We also found Norcatur in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
