Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Grenola had an population of 187 people. This is a decrease of 13.43% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 19.05% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Grenola had a population of 216 people (or 7.49% of the total population of Elk County). This makes Grenola the county's 4th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 216 people, the population of Grenola decreased 6.49% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 231 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Grenola was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Grenola post office opened in 1879.

We also found Grenola in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
