At the time of the 2010 Census, Garden City had a population of 26,658 people (which is 72.49% of the total population of Finney County). This makes Garden City the county's most populous community.

The population of Garden City represents 0.93% of the total population of Kansas (which has 2,853,118 people), making it the state's 15th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 26,658 people, the population of Garden City decreased 6.3% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 28,451 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Garden City was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>
