While we don't have a date for the founding of Lawrence, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Lawrence had an population of 49,427 people. This is an increase of 7.45% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 27.01% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Lawrence had a population of 46,001 people (or 5.09% of the total population of Marion County). This makes Lawrence the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Lawrence represents 0.71% of the total population of Indiana (which has 6,483,802 people), making it the state's 18th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 46,001 people, the population of Lawrence increased 18.21% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 38,915 people).
