From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Filer was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>

From that list, the Filer post office opened in 1905.

We also found Filer mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (September 1924).
