The community of Boise City is the Seat for Ada County. Boise City is also the capital of Idaho.

Ada County was founded in 1864 and was created by taking area from Boise County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Ada had a population of 481,880 people. This is an increase of 22.81% since the last Census (which gave a population of 392,365 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Ada represented 25.03% of the total population of Idaho.
