Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Coeur d'Alene had an population of 52,392 people. This is an increase of 18.7% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 51.8% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Coeur d'Alene had a population of 44,137 people (which is 31.87% of the total population of Kootenai County). This makes Coeur d'Alene the county's most populous community.

The population of Coeur d'Alene represents 2.82% of the total population of Idaho (which has 1,567,582 people), making it the state's 7th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 44,137 people, the population of Coeur d'Alene increased 27.88% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 34,514 people).
