From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Woodbine was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Woodbine post office opened in 1856.

We also found Woodbine in the book titled Iowa State Gazetteer (1865).
