The origin (or the toponymy) of Tabor: Named after the Biblical Mount Tabor, a mountain near Nazareth. Another claim is that it was named after Tábor, a city in the Czech Republic.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Tabor had an population of 986 people. This is a decrease of 5.19% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 0.7% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Tabor had a population of 1,040 people (or 13.98% of the total population of Fremont County). This makes Tabor the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Tabor represents 0.03% of the total population of Iowa (which has 3,046,355 people), making it the state's 270th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,040 people, the population of Tabor increased 4.73% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 993 people).
