From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Marble Rock was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Marble Rock post office opened in 1859.

We also found Marble Rock in the book titled Iowa State Gazetteer (1865).
