Warren County was founded January 13, 1846 and was created by taking area from Polk County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Warren had a population of 51,548 people. This is an increase of 11.52% since the last Census (which gave a population of 46,225 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Warren represented 1.52% of the total population of Iowa.
