Grady County was founded in 1905. Grady was created by taking area from Decatur and Thomas Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Grady had a population of 24,588 people. This is a decrease of 1.69% since the last Census (which gave a population of 25,011 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Grady represented 0.26% of the total population of Georgia.
