Butts County was founded in 1825. Butts was created by taking area from Henry and Monroe Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Butts had a population of 24,917 people. This is an increase of 5.34% since the last Census (which gave a population of 23,655 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Butts represented 0.24% of the total population of Georgia.
