Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Columbus had an population of 196,074 people. This is an increase of 3.26% since the 2010 Census.

At the time of the 2010 Census, Columbus had a population of 189,885 people (which is 100% of the total population of Muscogee County). This makes Columbus the county's most populous community.

The population of Columbus represents 1.96% of the total population of Georgia (which has 9,687,653 people), making it the state's 2nd most populous community.
