Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Hialeah had an population of 232,853 people. This is an increase of 3.64% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 2.84% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Hialeah had a population of 224,669 people (which is 9% of the total population of Miami-Dade County). This makes Hialeah the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Hialeah represents 1.19% of the total population of Florida (which has 18,801,310 people), making it the state's 6th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 224,669 people, the population of Hialeah has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (with a count of 226,419 people).
