Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, De Land had an population of 34,945 people. This is an increase of 29.28% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 67.17% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, De Land had a population of 27,031 people (which is 5.47% of the total population of Volusia County). This makes De Land the county's 5th most populous community.

The population of De Land represents 0.14% of the population of Florida (which has 18,801,310 people), making it the state's 88th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 27,031 people, the population of De Land increased 29.31% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 20,904 people).
