Time Zone: Nassau County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Fernandina Beach is the Seat for Nassau County.

Nassau County was founded December 29, 1824 and was created by taking area from Duval County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Nassau had a population of 88,583 people. This is an increase of 20.83% since the last Census (which gave a population of 73,314 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Nassau represented 0.39% of the total population of Florida.

    (8 miles [12.9 km] to the southwest)
  • Fernandina Beach
    (15 miles [24.1 km] to the east)
