Time Zone: Liberty County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Bristol is the Seat for Liberty County.

Liberty County was founded December 15, 1855. Liberty was created by taking area from Franklin and Gadsden Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Liberty had a population of 8,341 people. This is a decrease of 0.29% since the last Census (which gave a population of 8,365 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Liberty represented 0.04% of the total population of Florida.
