Gulf County, Florida

Time Zone: The communities of Gulf County are split between two time zones. Some communities are located in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and they observe daylight saving time. The other communities are located in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and they observe daylight saving time.

The community of Port Saint Joe is the seat for Gulf County.

Gulf County was founded in 1925.

Using the Census estimates for 2008^<1>, Gulf had a population of 15,667 people. This is an increase of 7.4% since the 2000 Census, which gave a population of 14,587 people.

At the time of the 2000 Census, Gulf represented 0.09% of the total population of Florida, making it the state's 57th most populous county (out of 67 counties).
