Time Zone: Franklin County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Apalachicola is the Seat for Franklin County.

Franklin County was founded February 8, 1832 and was created by taking area from Jackson County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Franklin had a population of 12,113 people. This is an increase of 4.88% since the last Census (which gave a population of 11,549 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Franklin represented 0.06% of the total population of Florida.
