The community of Blountstown is the Seat for Calhoun County.

Calhoun County was founded January 26, 1838. Calhoun was created by taking area from Washington and Jackson Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Calhoun had a population of 14,140 people. This is a decrease of 3.32% since the last Census (which gave a population of 14,625 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Calhoun represented 0.08% of the total population of Florida.
