At the time of the 2010 Census, Cocoa had a population of 17,140 people. This makes Cocoa the county's 6th most populous community.

The population of Cocoa represents 0.09% of the population of Florida (which has 18,801,310 people), making it the state's 117th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 17,140 people, the population of Cocoa increased 4.44% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 16,412 people).
