At the time of the 2010 Census, the Town of Killingly had a population of 17,370 people (or 14.67% of the total population of Windham County). This makes Killingly the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Killingly represents 0.49% of the total population of Connecticut (which has 3,574,097 people), making it the state's 86th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 17,370 people, the population of Killingly increased 5.45% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 16,472 people).
