The community of Eagle is the Seat for Eagle County.

Eagle County was founded February 11, 1883 and was created by taking area from Summit County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Eagle had a population of 55,183 people. This is an increase of 5.72% since the last Census (which gave a population of 52,197 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Eagle represented 1.04% of the total population of Colorado.
