Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Ventura had an population of 107,343 people. This is an increase of 0.85% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 6.37% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Ventura had a population of 106,433 people (or 12.93% of the total population of Ventura County). This makes Ventura the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Ventura represents 0.29% of the population of California (which has 37,253,956 people), making it the state's 56th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 106,433 people, the population of Ventura increased 5.47% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 100,916 people).

We originally found mention of Ventura in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Ventura was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Ventura post office opened in 1889.

We also found Ventura in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
