At the time of the 2010 Census, Oxnard had a population of 197,899 people (or 24.04% of the total population of Ventura County). This makes Oxnard the county's most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Oxnard was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Oxnard post office opened in 1898.

We also found Oxnard mentioned on a train schedule titled Southern Pacific Railroad Time Tables (March 1908).
