Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Oceanside had an population of 175,716 people. This is an increase of 5.17% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 9.12% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Oceanside had a population of 167,086 people (or 5.4% of the total population of San Diego County). This makes Oceanside the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Oceanside represents 0.45% of the population of California (which has 37,253,956 people), making it the state's 27th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 167,086 people, the population of Oceanside increased 3.76% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 161,029 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Oceanside was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Oceanside post office opened in 1883.
