Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Napa had an population of 78,037 people. This is an increase of 1.46% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 7.51% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Napa had a population of 76,915 people (or 56.35% of the total population of Napa County). This makes Napa the county's most populous community.

The population of Napa represents 0.21% of the population of California (which has 37,253,956 people), making it the state's 100th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 76,915 people, the population of Napa increased 5.97% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 72,585 people).
