The community of Bridgeport is the Seat for Mono County.

Mono County was founded in 1861. Mono was created by taking area from Calaveras, Fresno and Mariposa Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Mono had a population of 14,450 people. This is an increase of 1.75% since the last Census (which gave a population of 14,202 people in 2010).
