At the time of the 2010 Census, Corcoran had a population of 24,813 people (which is 16.22% of the total population of Kings County). This makes Corcoran the county's 2nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 24,813 people, the population of Corcoran increased 71.62% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 14,458 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Corcoran was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Corcoran post office opened in 1901.
