At the time of the 2010 Census, Florence had a population of 25,536 people (which is 6.8% of the total population of Pinal County). This makes Florence the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Florence represents 0.4% of the total population of Arizona (which has 6,392,017 people), making it the state's 29th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 25,536 people, the population of Florence increased 49.74% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 17,054 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Florence was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Florence post office opened in 1869.
