The community of Clifton is the Seat for Greenlee County.

Greenlee County was founded in 1909 and was created by taking area from Graham County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Greenlee had a population of 9,467 people. This is an increase of 12.21% since the last Census (which gave a population of 8,437 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Greenlee represented 0.13% of the total population of Arizona.
