Cochise County was founded in 1881 and was created by taking area from Pima County. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Cochise had a population of 127,248 people. This is a decrease of 3.12% since the last Census (which gave a population of 131,346 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Cochise represented 2.05% of the total population of Arizona.
